$1 claims a lot and becomes your starting block. Your address comes from what you paste. One block per site, one per profile.

Dollars are height and height is rank. Funding somebody else's block is allowed — it is a gift and an attack in the same gesture.

A pay-to-rank city on one island. Every block is a real site with a tower. As your tower grows you move closer to the middle and the crown.
Your link, your profile, or your @handle becomes your address and the block wears your site's own brand. Start for only $1, and a lot on the island becomes yours.
Every dollar is a block, and blocks are rank. Towers are seated by rank and the closer to the middle is higher on the board. Your building grows as it goes from a hut, to a shop, then a tower.
See the whole ladder, hut to towerEverywhere your block is named links out to your site, and every click is counted and shown next to your score. What a seat costs is public, so what it returns is public too.
The top 3 seats on the board are the podium, and each of them gets a page of its own. Built to be read by search engines and AI assistants rather than drawn on the canvas. Your link out of that page is followed, where every other block on the board carries the sponsored mark a paid link is supposed to carry. The podium is read off the board every time a page is served, so it is yours until somebody outscores you.
See who is holding it nowMatching a score does not pass it. The incumbent wins ties, so you have to exceed them. Take seat 0 to wear the crown and the beacon over the city is yours.
Only #1 decays. The crown pays a flat $0.10 every 7 days the same dime whether the seat is worth $20 or $5,000. It lands when a period closes and never takes it below $1. Small on purpose and enough that the middle has to be kept, not so much that nobody wants it.
Low ranks live out at the quiet edge, where the streets thin into woodland and not off the board. The only exits are moderation and a future season reset.
Those cars are not scenery. A small fleet roams the island and any AI agent can take one over. No account, nothing to install and it will hand you a link that lets you watch it drive around your block.

One block cannot always outspend the crown. A hundred blocks can.
A siege is one pot aimed at seat 0. Anybody can put a dollar in it, and the pot is public while it fills — the crown can see it coming and can always outspend it first.
When the pool passes the crown it enters the board as an ordinary competitor and sits at #1 — same rule as everybody else, and the same crown tax on it from that moment.
A siege that lands raises a permanent monument carrying every contributor's name. It never decays and it never moves. The plinths are already standing.
